Configuration Wizard

Before we can start to optimize your modem, some information is required about your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Step One

Choose your service provider by selecting your connection to the Internet. If you use America Online as your service provider select this option. If you are using Windows 95/98/NT's dialup networking to connect, check this option.

For Users Using Windows 95/98/NT Dialup Networking

Step Two

Dial-Up Profile

This is the dial-up profile you want to use to optimize you modem. If there is no dial-up profile in your system, then "Please select your dial-up profile:" will show the message "No dial-up profile available ". In this case, you will need to create a dial-up profile.

To create your dial-up profile:

For Windows 95/98
Click on "My Computer" folder -> "Dial-Up Networking" folder->"Make New Connection" icon.

For Windows NT 4.0 and above users
Click on "My Computer" folder -> "Dial-Up Networking" icon -> "New...." Button

Enter your login user ID for the selected dial-up profile.

Password

Enter your password associated with your user ID.

Redial

Enter the number of times you want to try re-connecting to your ISP when dialing fails. The default value is set to 5 times. Please enter a number that is more than 5 times if your phone connection is known to be unreliable.

Step Three

Web Address Configuration

Enter your Internet Service Provider's website address in the text box provided. Ensure that the address entered is valid, as it will be used for optimizing your modem settings.

For example, if you are using MSN as your ISP, use http://www.msn.com or if it is NetZero, use http://www.netzero.net. (We're not promoting these ISPs but just using them as examples.)

For Users Using America Online

Step Two

Location of your AOL Browser

Select the location of your AOL Browser "aol.exe" eg. C:\Program Files\America Online\aol.exe

Default Screen Name

Create your Screen Name by pressing on "Add". Key in your screen name. You may add more screen names if you want to. This screen name will be used to connect to your AOL account.

Redial

Enter the number of times you want to try re-connecting to your ISP when dialing fails. The default value is set to 5 times. Please enter a number that is more than 5 times if your phone connection is known to be unreliable.
